This Micro VILT is for anyone having to take an active part in corporate meetings or give presentations online. Even before the pandemic, online presenting was a part of most people’s work life. Now, taking part in online meetings has become almost a daily occurrence. This Micro VILT will give participants key tips and techniques on how to enhance their online presence, and how to deliver online presentations that inform the audience, and create a positive lasting impression. We will begin by analysing the key differences and similarities between online and face-to-face presenting. This will be especially helpful to those who have not done any online presenting, but it will also give experienced presenters the chance to reflect on the way they have transitioned to online presenting. As with all presenting, preparing effectively is essential. Here is where the similarities between online and face-to-face presenting are strongest. However, there are key issues about online presenting which participants will be asked to think about. Finally, we will look in detail at delivering online presentations. This will cover body language, which is still vital even in online presenting. We will end by discussing in depth how to improve the most important of all preparation stages – the rehearsal.
