About this Training

There is a consensus that gas flaring is an energy and climate change challenge facing the oil and gas industry. The industry is under pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from gas flaring because large quantities of methane are emitted directly into the atmosphere, having a harmful impact on climate change. It is also a significant environmental barrier for oil and gas operators targeting net zero emissions goals. The World Bank's Global Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) Partnership reports that an estimated emissions of 357 million tons of CO2e, of which 315 million tons in the form of carbon dioxide and 42 million tons of CO2e in the form of methane, were released from oil and gas facilities around the world in 2022.

This comprehensive training course is designed to empower professionals with the knowledge, tools and insight into the location and size of every gas flared globally. Participants will deepen their understanding of how routine flaring can be converted into valuable products and monetized using proven, mobile and portable technologies and abating methods such as compression-to-pipeline (CTP), compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), gas to wire (GTW), gas to digital (GTD), gas to liquid (GTL), waste heat recovery systems, microgrid and renewable energy integration. The outcome is to enable participants to be entrepreneurial-minded leaders in decarbonizing the oil and gas industry.

At the end of this course, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the technologies and abating methods that have been proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by slashing gas flaring in remote areas with and without infrastructure.
